PORTFOLIO

Value Projects Ltd

Value Projects Ltd. approached MyKnowledgeMap seeking a complete overhaul of their existing website. The client had suggested using Wordpress as a means of powering the content management side of the website as they had prior experience of using the blogging platform, and knew that it could be tailored for use as a content management system (CMS).

To ensure the search engine visibility of the website wasn’t harmed too much with the migration to Wordpress, the same content and navigation hierarchy was maintained, albeit in a different layout. The old design was constructed for use on 800 x 600 pixel screen resolutions, and due to the general adoption of larger screen resolutions, we were able to design for 1024 x 768 pixel screen resolutions. This allowed for a three-column layout without looking cluttered.

As a by-product of the migration to Wordpress it was also possible to distribute the news articles as an RSS (really simple syndication) feed so that visitors can choose to subscribe the latest news as soon as it is published. The website also makes use of ‘open search’ which allows visitors to search the website directly from their web browser without needing to visit the website first.
