Minimal sites

Minimal sites is a great CSS gallery that I have come across recently and is a fresh source of inspiration from the cluttered, often fussy examples found on other gallery websites. Though the CSS gallery concept is getting a little old, I have no problem with it myself.

The design of the CSS gallery reminds me of Khoi Vinh’s Subtraction. The use of bold black text, strict use of a grid layout and strong horizontal lines. This is not a bad thing, though it would have been nice to see a more imaginative use of a grid layout.

Junghoon Park, currator of the gallery has also quite cleverly managed to leverage in Google Adsense so that it doesn’t appear obtrusive like some of the other CSS galleries found on the web.
