Chasing traffic

For those who know me, I am a big fan of web applications and websites like FeedBurner, Google Analytics and Alexa for providing free access to statistics regarding websites that I maintain. They provide an insight into who the visitors are, where they come from (both in terms of referral website and geographic location) and what they are interested in. If Google Analytics and Google Sitemaps combined…

what a formidable force they would be. I currently use both of the Google services to track user movements on my websites and to help Google index my websites.

Although Google Analytics is targeted towards search engine marketers it does incorporate some features that are of benefit for web designers, such as the Web Design Parameters section. I feel that this feature should be expanded further to encompass the features that Google Sitemaps currently holds, in particular notification of crawl errors from Google, top search queries, the crawl analysis and page analysis.
