Microsummaries
Tom has littered my del.icio.us account with some links to information about microsummaries. I hadn’t heard anything about them until Tom mentioned them to me. Simply put they are dynamic bookmarks that show the latest “content title” that is determined by the microsummary embedded into the bookmarked page.
It’s a technology that is so cutting-edge that it is only available through Firefox 2 and beyond at the moment. It has a great deal of potential; some of the examples for microsummary use can be found at the MozillaWiki. As a blogger it would be strong alternative to RSS to notify users when fresh content is available.
More information can be found at Firefox Microsummaries Walkthrough, Microsummary-enabled Websites and Making Use of Microsummaries.
